At Aruliden, I had the privilege of working on a pro-bono project with one of the many entrepreneurs the IRC supports. Dr. Kadijatu Grace Ahene is a refugee from Sierra Leone and has made it her life’s mission to uplift others through her motivational speaking, non-profit work and her business: DIJA. DIJA sells handmade shoes, belts, pillows and more—all wrapped in colorful Ankara prints. This direction is all about bottling up the energy the Kadijatu brings to each and every interaction. She is fun and personable and invites others to celebrate life and themselves through her heritage, her designs—the colors of her world.
